Dean’s story
Dean Simmons is the newest employee of Suggy’s Automotive and Trainer Hire in Stawell VIC, after completing a Youth Jobs PaTH Internship.
Connected with Sureway Ararat, Dean had completed his Certificate II in Automotive, but due to living in a rural town of Lake Bolac there was limited opportunities for him to gain further experience and skills in the field.
When Suggy’s owner Aaron Resuggan got in touch with Sureway Ararat Consultant Carli in early 2019, Carli contacted Dean straight away about the opportunity.
However, as Dean lived an hour drive away suitable accommodation was the next hurdle.
Aaron and the team were more than understanding, and by late March Dean commenced his Internship placement at the business.
Having been extremely pleased with Dean’s worth ethic and skill development throughout his placement, Aaron offered Dean a Mechanical Apprenticeship which he accepted and commenced in June 2019.
Aaron told Sureway that he is extremely happy with the performance, work ethic and skill that Dean has brought to his business, and quickyl became a a well valued team member of Suggy’s Automotive and Trailer Hire.
