Returning to the workforce after 32 years
Meet a very special client, Christine Hodgson of Port Pirie.
At a turning point in her life, Christine worked closely with her Consultants Chantelle and Cameron to increase her job readiness and ensure she was moving closer to employment at every appointment.
Just one of the many tools utilized was referring Christine to Sureway’s Career Transition Assistance (CTA) course in May this year – an intensive course for mature aged PARTICIPANTS focused on increasing digital literacy and improving employability in the local labour market.
In this course Christine thrived.
Completing the course with a fresh tailored resume and some new-found confidence, Christine applied to a cleaning position with Disability Support Provider Joy to Independency and landed HER FIRST JOB INTERVIEW IN 32 YEARS! This photo was taken 30 minutes after her interview. Chantelle and Cameron say that she was beaming with pride in how far she had come – and they were too!
“Regardless of the outcome for this role, Christine has achieved amazing success and it has been a pleasure watching her journey so far. Not only is she actively on the hunt for work again but she believes in herself that she can accomplish what she sets out to achieve. We believe only good things are in store for Christine’s employment future.” said Chantelle and Cameron.
Great news was right around the corner – She got the job! Christine commenced with Joy to Independency in September and is loving her new role.
“It’s turned her whole perspective around, she’s like a brand new woman!” said Cameron.
