Transition to Work (TtW) is an Australian Government initiative to assist young people aged 15-24 into work or education, including apprenticeships and training.
Sureway’s TtW program helps build your skills, confidence and readiness for work by supporting you to achieve your goals and lead you down a successful career pathway. During our program, you will work with our experienced Sureway Youth Consultants to build pre-employment and personal skills through training, work experience and education.
We will talk with you about things like apprenticeships and internships, as well connect you with relevant local community services and job opportunities near you. We know that everyone is different, so we tailor our program to your needs to ensure you get the right support.
The program aims to help you become an independent and employable worker by assisting you to transition onto further education or into employment.
As a Workforce Australia Services provider, Sureway will be delivering the Transition to Work program to young people who live in the Murray Bridge, Loxton, Mount Gambier, Berri and Renmark communities.
Your Sureway Youth Consultant will be able to help you with things like:
- Providing you with practical support
- Seeking further relevant education or training, including help with obtaining your driver’s licence
- Helping you develop necessary personal skills for the workforce, including communication, problem-solving, self-management and teamwork
- Working with you to create a resume and cover letter
- Linking you with employers looking for young people willing to give new opportunities a try

Our successful job seekers experiences
KANE
Our young Mt Gambier jobseeker Kane was at a stage in his life where he knew he needed to make a step into employment but really didn’t know how to go about it.
Kane attended his first Sureway appointment where he was introduced to his employment consultant who saw great potential in him. Together they explored Kane’s strengths and goals and discussed opportunities in the local area for young jobseekers. Kane was provided with advice on his resume which needed some work to ensure it was presenting Kane in the best possible way to employers seeking to hire a young person.
Kane was then encouraged to attend to a Sureway Job Club where an employer specialist worked through a tailored plan to help Kane stand out from the crowd and motivated him to apply for a position that resulted in Kane being invited for a job interview.
Unfortunately, the interview did not go successfully for Kane and after the employer specialist receiving feedback from the employer, Kane then received some very handy interview coaching and tips from his consultant to better prepare him for his next opportunity.
That opportunity happened to be just around the corner and a few days later Kane was invited to another interview with a local tyre shop. Kane excelled in this interview after remembering the training and guidance that his consultant gave him and was offered the position as a junior tyre fitter.
Kane was very thankful for the time that his Sureway consultant took to coach and encourage him and came into the office to thank the team for helping him through the entire process. He was proud that he was able to secure a job that provided him with an exciting career path and a positive future.
Mikayla Found Success with Sureway
Renmark jobseeker Mikayla participated in a Job Club session aimed at empowering youth jobseekers into employment with Sureways employer specialist. Despite having no experience in Administration, Mikayla told Sureway that she wanted to work in an office. Given Mikayla had no experience this presented a great opportunity to look at an Internship program with a local employer willing to trial a youth jobseeker.
The path internship gives a young person an opportunity to show what they can do and learn new skills with a supportive employer over a 12 week trial.
Sureway approached several Renmark businesses looking for an internship opportunity for Mikayla which would suit her interest in administration. Luckily an opportunity landed for Mikayla and she commenced an internship with a local civil construction business.
Mikayla thrived during the internship with weekly check-ins from Sureway and regular coaching and mentoring from her consultant which all resulted in positive feedback from the employer and after the 12 weeks had passed the employer was thrilled to offer Mikayla a permanent full time position as a receptionist.
